Details
Five fair trade baskets woven by Tonga women in the remote Binga district of northern Zimbabwe, using the over-and-under weave their communities have used for generations. Each is finished with a coiled rim in a distinctive herringbone pattern. A single 16" basket can take around two weeks to make. Hung together, they make a warm, textural wall arrangement.
- Includes: 2 small (12–15" diameter), 2 medium (15–17"), 1 large (17.5–22")
- Materials: locally harvested wild grasses, small vines and palm leaves, dyed with tree bark
- Maker: Tonga artisans via Mbare, Zimbabwe (fair trade)
